Copenhagen, Denmark-based artist Ki! has teamed up with Danish-Romanian singer Fallulah on the ABBA-esque single “I Wanna Lose It (with You)” from his forthcoming album, Return to Haeundae Beach.

“Growing up in the 70s and 80s you couldn’t avoid the massive hits of ABBA that helped define pop culture forever after. This is my take on the maximalist production that I associate with ABBA’s songs with a Ki! twist. The twist being – if there’s an instrument playing one part, six other instruments play the same part as well (ending up with the “lucky number of seven” instruments per part),” says Ki! about the single.

“The track count on this is humongous and was a tough but extremely fun process to record (as I have played ALL instruments) and also to mix. The amazing Danish singer Fallulah is featured as topliner and lead vocalist. To sum the song up nicely: JUST HAVE FUN!”

Ki! was born in South Korea and lived in a children’s home in the Haeundae district of Busan. He was adopted and grew up in Denmark. ‘The Boy From Haeundae Beach’, Ki!’s debut album, released in November 2022, was a double LP featuring 20 tracks, created as the melodies were written and recorded one by one over several years, many of them paying tribute to some of his favourite artists such as Fela Kuti, Sharon Jones, George Harrison, J Dilla, Link Wray and others. The album received rave reviews, not least a 6-star ‘masterpiece!’ review from GAFFA.

The ever-industrious Ki released his second album, ‘Yong-Gwanglo Part 1’, in April 2024, followed by the second part, ‘Yong-Gwanglo Part 2’, on 22 November 2024. The album title means “Melting Pot” in Korean. In terms of genre, style and sound, the albums cover a wide range of influences, drawing inspiration from different periods and places around the world, so it feels like a mixtape version of a travel diary. Bon voyage!

Autumn 2026 will see the release of Ki!’s fourth studio album via Crunchy Frog Records.

Bon voyage!

Efteråret 2026 vil bringe udgivelsen af Ki!’s fjerde studiealbum via Crunchy Frog Records.
